Your Publisher's Book Review

When you have spent time working on your project it is almost impossible to see it objectively.

If you ask friends or relatives to look at it for you, most won’t spot problems and even fewer will tell you about them!

This means your project could be confusing, poorly structured or contain glaring errors. You want to catch these challenges long before you publish, not afterwards.

Our publisher will look out for those challenges. But, more importantly, they will check for the tweaks and adaptations that will allow your book to be even more effective.

To make sure the publisher can give you the most useful review of your manuscript you will need to provide:

  • A description of the purpose of the project, who it is designed for and what you want to communicate
  • The full text of the project (in an easily readable format)

You will be provided with guidelines to help you with both the purpose document and the formatting of the full text.

You will receive a detailed report that shows the quality of your current manuscript in various categories. We use a simple red-amber-green notification system. This lets you easily spot what needs improving before publication.

Depending on the specifics of your project you will have various next-step options. Videos containing detailed information on these will also be provided.

Sometimes there are things you need to work on, sometimes the publishing team can do the refinement work and other projects are pretty much ready to go into the design, build and publication process.

Many vanity publishers will simply take what they are presented with and turn it, possibly with a few tweaks, into the final book.

However, professional publishers will always ensure the book is the best quality it can be. This means that they need to know how much work is involved in the editorial phase before getting underway.

This passion for quality control means that all the time, effort and energy you put into your project is cherished. It also means that your finished book not only looks great but reads well too!
